Tech Prep

Tech Prep is a federal program that enables Sussex Tech students to earn credits accepted by numerous colleges, universities and apprenticeship programs throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Earning high school and college credits at the same time saves money and time toward finishing a degree.

Colleges and universities that participate in Tech Prep recognize that many students of comprehensive technical high schools like Sussex Tech are already taking advanced coursework in high school. By giving credit for this coursework, Sussex Tech graduates are able to enter their chosen postsecondary educational institutional as second- or even a third-year students.

Students in the Tech Prep program take a planned sequence of study in a technical field that can begin as early as the ninth grade. The sequence extends through at least two years of postsecondary occupational education or an apprenticeship, culminating in an associate degree or certificate.

Sussex Tech has articulation agreements with numerous postsecondary institutions that provide for a smooth sequence of classes from one level to another in fields such as engineering, business, graphic design, culinary arts and more.
